Greetings, Dear Friends in Christ –
Thank you for the opportunity to share another Selah posting with you on the topic, “Never Forget.”
We are approaching the 20th anniversary of all those that not only lost but also sacrificed their lives on September 11, 2001. There are indeed times to remember and reflect and other times when we’d rather (and should) forget. God knows our sorrows. God knows our pains. God promises He will never forget us. Here is His Word for you:
“Can a woman forget her nursing child, that she should have no compassion on the son of her womb? Even these may forget, yet I will not forget you.”
What powerful words! We are on God’s mind! His love for us is compared to one of the strongest bonds possible—the bond between a mother and her child. From this bond, a child is nurtured in his or her mother’s body—receiving comfort, care, protection, provision . . . all that is needed to develop, grow, and prepare for life outside the womb. But, even greater than the bond between mother and child is God’s love for us. In this way, His love for us is incomparable. I tell my son every day how much I love him, but often add that God loves him so much more than I ever can because God loves us best! His love is perfect and unconditional! Thank GOD for that!!!
Think about God’s Word to you, “I will never forget you.” How very special to know that God remembers us! It’s wonderful to know thatanother human being cares about us and our well-being, but to know that THE GOD OF THE UNIVERSE will never forget us gives us such great joy! This joy is even sweeter when we add the love we receive from others. Maya Angelou once said, “People will forget what you said. People will forget what you did. But people will never forget how you made them feel.” So as we contemplate our spiritual journey, I encourage us to never forget these things:
- Never forget the love that God has for you.
- Never forget the promises that God made to you.
- Never forget those, who helped you to be the best person you can be.
- Never forget the love that you have from the people in your life.
- Never forget that each day is a gift.
- Never forget that you are the gift in someone else’s life.
- Never forget to say, “I’m sorry,” and “I forgive you.” Never forget to forgive yourself.
- Never forget to say, “I love you.”
- Never forget to dream! Never forget to live—really live!
- Never forget to smile—it goes a long way.
- Never forget to believe in yourself—no matter what!
- Never forget who (and Whose) you are!
- Never forget that God will never forget you!
Until next time, My Friend,
Selah
Thank you for this my precious friend. I’ll never forget the first time I met you at the church we were attending, worship and praise in the sanctuary, a trip to visit you and your beloved son, long talks, sharing joy and pain, staying in touch despite the distance, and the incredible blessing of just being your friend. May God bless you more abundantly than you could hope or imagine. I love you, my sister!
